CYPHERPUNKS
// ABOUT

CypherPunks create art through code.

01 // LINEAGE

1993. Eric Hughes writes three words that outlive every company founded that year: "Cypherpunks write code." When the world lacks something it needs, you do not ask permission. You build it, you publish it, and the work speaks.

We inherit the verb. We point it at art.

02 // THE CLAIM

Ten thousand pixel identities, living entirely on Ethereum. Not files on a server wearing a contract as a costume, the art and its metadata are rendered by the contract itself. No files. No servers. No pointers.

The work and the record are the same thing.

03 // THE MACHINE

One punk auctioned every day, each with a full day for the whole world to bid, until every public punk is distributed. No presale. No allowlist. No switch to flip. The cadence is a constant in an immutable contract.

Most collections are promises. This one is a machine. Nobody can change it, including us.

04 // THE DEAL

98% to open auction. A 1% artist allocation for ETCH'D. 1% to the team. The reserved 200 are drawn blind at genesis by a verifiable onchain shuffle, nobody chooses which pieces, including us. Pieces 1 and 10,000 are excluded from the draw, guaranteed public.

The team bids like everyone else. Same information, same terms, same clock.

05 // THE RECORD

All ten thousand are public before the first auction. Browse them. Find yours. Which punk comes up is drawn onchain in each settlement itself, never known in advance, so every day keeps its mystery. The genesis seed behind the reserved draw is published for anyone to check. Beside the collection runs HASH'D, long form writing on digital art inscribed into Ethereum as calldata.

The art is public. The order is drawn. The essays outlive the servers.

06 // THE KEY

A CypherPunk is not only a face. After genesis comes ETCH'D, the press, an onchain marketplace where every artist owns their own contract. Hold a punk and etch any artwork permanently into Ethereum, no platform between the work and the collector, no fees ever. Keep holding and your work hangs beside the collection.

Platforms die. The chain does not. The guild is whoever holds a key.

07 // THE VALUES

Systems encode values. Values shape culture. Ours are written where they cannot be unwritten: permanence over convenience, fairness over access, openness over control, verification over trust.

Do not believe us. Read the contracts.
